FROM THE DEAN…
As a three-time alumna of GW and the Executive Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, I know how vital GW alumni are to our recruitment efforts. Throughout my 35 years in GW admissions I have had the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of alumni and parents who are dedicated to helping us meet our recruitment goals by communicating with prospective students about our University. This past year has been no exception!
Throughout the 2008-2009 academic year, our AAP membership has grown by over 200 members. Thanks to your participation, we were able to expand our recruitment activities and were in contact with students and parents that we may not have otherwise had the chance to meet. I am pleased to share the following statistics with you about your involvement:
- A total of 377 AAP members participated this year
- 174 AAP members participated in college fairs
- 1224 interviews were conducted by AAP members
- 23 members participated in calling projects
- 44 members assisted with GW Admissions receptions
As you can see, AAP volunteers are an integral part of our recruitment efforts. Thank you for the time and effort that you put in to assist us!
By the end of the 2009-2010 academic year, it would be great to see even more members out in their local communities representing GW! Remember that the fall season is when AAP members are most involved as we have numerous invitations to attend college fairs and frequent requests for interviews. If you haven’t been contacted already, please keep a look out for opportunities to get involved from the Admissions representative responsible for recruitment in your region.
All the best,
Kathryn Napper
Executive Dean of Undergraduate Admissions
