Interview Ins & Outs

  • Your admissions representative will contact you with the names and contact information for students in your area who are interested in an interview.

  • Arrange your interview with the student(s) as soon as possible after being contacted.

  • Make sure the student fills out an inquiry card so that we can have their correct information.

  • Remember location, location, location. Use semi-public places to conduct the interview---your business office, a coffee shop, a hotel lobby, or a public library. Avoid interviewing at either your home or that of the student.

  • Greet the student’s family at the beginning of the interview and let them know there will be time after the interview to answer questions.

  • Most interviews will run approximately half an hour. It is okay for the interview to last longer but we try to have the interviews last at least 30 minutes.

  • Our goal is to have every student leave his/her interview with a better understanding of GW and a stronger connection with the Admissions Office.
