Interview Evaluation Form

The interview evaluation becomes part of the application file and serves to supplement the objective information we have about the student. At times, the evaluation becomes a critical component in the decision process. Therefore, please provide as much detail as possible in your comments. We know that this is a subjective process but your feedback is important to us.

Ideally, the report offers insight into what the student would add to GW and what might make the student stand out from the rest of the applicant pool.  Comments about the candidates’ personality, maturity, and ability to communicate ideas are particularly helpful.  The Committee also wants to know what interests the student and what seemed to be the area(s) about which they feel most strongly.

After you complete your written evaluation, we ask you to rate the candidate on the basis of the interview.  From our experience, most interviews result in a rating between “good” to “strong”.  Reserve the top two for those who are far and away the best, and the bottom two categories for candidates with whom you were not particularly impressed.
