  • Seeking volunteer musician:  IONA Senior Services is dedicated to enabling older people to live with dignity and independence. The Adult Day Health Center at IONA provides an opportunity for seniors with memory loss or physical impairments to interact socially with others in a safe and stimulating environment, while providing respite for caregivers. IONA’s Adult Day Health Center is hosting an art show for participants and their families and is looking for a volunteer musician who would be willing to come in and provide soft music for the event. Musicians of all specialties are welcome; in particular the Adult Day Health Center is looking for an individual with experience with the piano, guitar, violin or harp. Location: 4125 Albemarle Street NW, Washington, DC.   • SHORT-TERM INTERNSHIPS WITH THE 9/11 UNITY WALK

    The 9/11 Unity Walk is looking for interns during the month of August to help with our "OUTREACH CAMPAIGN," reaching 500 organizations and religious congregations to spread the word about this peaceful response to 9/1.  The Unity Walk brings together people of all faiths and no faiths to walk together with religious and diplomatic leaders down Embassy Row.  Primary responsibilities will include phone calling to enlist support and partnership for the event scheduled for September 14, 2008.  Training and background materials will be provided.  Benefits include valuable networking experience and professional contacts in a diverse community of NGOs.  Ideal candidates could work between 10 am – 5 pm and between 10-25 hours/week (does not exclude others).  For additional information please contact Meg Poole at (202) 939-5895 or visit www.9/11unitywalk.org
